Register profile — the machine's variant of its architecture

qubit type: hyperfine clock qubit
gate mechanism: laser Molmer-Sorensen; arbitrary-angle RZZ + SU(4)
connectivity: all-to-all by transport around the racetrack
control: room-temperature electronics + free-space laser beams (gate beam pairs, 'sheet' cooling beams); ~4.8 control signals per qubit
control placement: room-temp + optics
readout: fluorescence with mid-circuit measurement and reset
gate evidence: a number stated by the vendor, protocol unstated
decoder mode: feed-forward — the decoder's result acts inside the run (closed loop)
codes: 4d_surface, carbon, generalized_shor, iceberg, lr_enhanced_surface, quantum_double, qubit_golay, stab_15_1_3, stab_16_6_4, steane, surface
flags: code id missing in the register

Pictures

Every picture carries the story of what it shows and its credit line.

Fig. 1 — A picture of the H2 surface ion trap microchip external image — opens at the source
An oblique photograph of the square H2 surface ion-trap die: bond pads line the edges and long electrode rails lead to an oval 'racetrack' electrode structure in the centre. Fig. 1 of Moses et al. (Quantinuum), 'A Race Track Trapped-Ion Quantum Processor', arXiv 2305.03828 (2023-05-05); the caption says the image was modified to enhance trap features, so the rainbow colours are not real. Ions float just above these electrodes and are moved around the racetrack by changing electrode voltages, the basis of ion shuttling.
System Model H2 hero image external image — opens at the source
A computer render, not a photograph: a web banner showing a gold chip in a dark square package, seen from above, with an elongated oval track at its centre and dense traces fanning out to bond pads on all four edges. It is the hero image of Quantinuum's System Model H2 product page. It illustrates a surface-electrode ion trap, where ions are held just above patterned electrodes on the chip surface; the idealised finish means fine details should not be read as the real device.
