File:Simplified scale model of the quantum computing demonstrator housed in two 19-inch racks with major components labeled.png
A labelled computer drawing, a simplified scale model, of a compact trapped-ion quantum computer built into two 19-inch racks. The 'optics rack' holds laser generation (including 729 nm light), stabilisation, fibre distribution and switching, and control electronics; the 'trap rack' holds the trap module with its rf and dc drive, amplifiers for the acousto-optic modulators, a 729 nm splitting module, a wavemeter and the computer and network hub. It comes from a 2021 study by I. Pogorelov, T. Feldker and colleagues, as recorded on Commons. It shows how an ion-trap machine's lasers and optics fit into racks instead of an optical table; it does not show an ion–photon network link. “Simplified scale model of the quantum computing demonstrator housed in two 19-inch racks with major components…” by Authors of the study: I.
